“The coronavirus pandemic has placed extraordinary demands on leaders in business and beyond,” writes McKinsey. COVID-19 created fear among employees and other stakeholders and the sheer unpredictability of the crisis made it challenging for executives to respond. “Indeed, the outbreak has the hallmarks of a “landscape scale” crisis: an unexpected event or sequence of events of enormous scale and overwhelming speed, resulting in a high degree of uncertainty that gives rise to disorientation, a feeling of lost control, and strong emotional disturbance.”
Despite all the chaos, Nebula was able to make some big moves. The company launched OneView, our cloud-based Technology Expense Management platform, on Microsoft’s Azure Marketplace and got the ball rolling on our global expansion plans by targeting new regions across the world.
This year, our CEO shared his insights around how to best respond to the disruption and detailed how he and the Nebula team have fared throughout 2020. Here’s a look at his top leadership posts.
#1 News just in: Nebula is going global
I’ve spoken about a BHAG before. Pronounced “Bee Hag” and short for a “Big Hairy Audacious Goal”, the concept calls on people, and businesses, to build for the long term by working today and tomorrow and the next day with strict and steadfast focus. It’s usually something that seems impossible.

#5 Leadership lessons: Finding the golden nugget
Talking to people in recent weeks, I’ve realised that many of us are experiencing some sort of COVID-19 fatigue. Often, these discussions are quite negative, which is totally understandable. However, if this is the “new reality” that we’re all going to be living for the immediate future, perhaps it’s time to start reframing how we talk about it. How should we perceive what’s happening in the world around us?
