At Nebula we’re shifting our business narrative as part of our evolution from a Challenger brand to a Sage business. When we first started out, explains our CEO, Daniel Nel, we were seen as a challenger because our role was to unpack our clients’ existing processes and then challenge them revamp how they do things.
Our aim was to help them curb their unnecessary/wasteful expenses. But in helping our clients to up their efficiency and cut costs, we had a negative impact on their service providers who weren’t able to earn as much because these businesses weren’t using as much. In this way, Nebula was often seen as a threat by some service providers.
But over the years we’ve earned our stripes in the industry and proved ourselves to be experts in our field. With this wealth of knowledge, we’re now more of a Sage brand because we have the knowhow and expertise to advise, guide and help our customers to run their operations more productively.
As part of this transition from the Challenger to the Sage, we’re doing things “A Smarter Way”. What does A Smarter Way mean?
“It’s about consistently challenging ourselves to come up with new ways of doing things. And then we test and share these ideas with our clients so that they can experience the benefits of trying something new, experimenting and having an agile mind set.”
According to Nel, in the past, companies only wanted something perfect. Something that just worked. But A Smarter Way is about progression, not perfection. A Smarter Way isn’t the only way. And it may not always be understood as the best way, says Nel.
