According to Gartner, this year will mark the beginning of the democratisation of AI. While just 15% of enterprises are currently using AI, close to a third of businesses, have put AI on their agenda for the next 12 months.In line with this, PwC research shows that close to 75% of business leaders describe AI as a key “business advantage.” The coming year will see AI performance continuing to improve, says Chirag Dekate, research director at Gartner.
“Organisations will strive to improve their understanding of what AI is best suited to, and how to deploy it. By 2020, 85% of CIOs will be piloting AI programs through a combination of buy, build and outsource efforts.”As is the case with any new and emerging technology, it is the early adopters who face the greatest obstacles because they’re testing the waters and figuring out how these digital innovations actually fit into a modern business setting.
