If you Google: “What does it take to stay in shape?” the first search result offers seven things fit people do to get in shape and stay there. From enjoying exercise and prioritising their health and fitness to getting enough sleep and surrounding themselves with other fit people. You may wonder what this has to do with your business or mobile team.
Many of the core principles that keep your mind and body in shape are the same principles that keep a business running smoothly and successfully. This makes it important for everyone in your organisation to regularly flex their business muscles and ensure that they’re doing whatever it takes to keep the company fighting fit.
To help you on your business fitness journey, we’ve put together a few “exercises” to help you keep your mobile team in the tip-top shape.
Exercise #1: Tone your mental muscles
When starting out on your journey to get in shape, it’s important to do some reading into your options. Are you going to join a gym? Run a marathon? Perhaps cut out certain types of food? The best way to make the right decision is for you to do the necessary research and know your options. Similarly, one of the most important things a mobile team can do to tone up their daily operations is to do their homework, determine what different packages and technologies are out there and realise their individual benefits. That way they can make sure that each employee has a package suited to his or her individual needs.
Exercise #2: The value of running drills
Let’s assume you have a big race or competition coming up, chances are you’re going to run some drills to build your speed, form and overall efficiency. The value of running drills is that you’re preparing yourself for something before it’s even happened. The same approach is essential for your mobile team. If you’ve ever incurred out of bundle charges, you’ll know how costly these can be. Through taking a proactive approach, your mobile team can ensure that all the necessary policies and procedures are put in place, and ultimately, help everyone be as productive and efficient as possible.
Exercise #3: The right way to get moving
Keeping fit while you’re travelling can be tough. Those who want to maintain their exercise discipline despite travelling need to go into their trip prepared. That might mean booking into a hotel with a gym or throwing a skipping rope in their suitcase.
Today, business travel is a reality and with these trips come roaming costs. It is not uncommon for employees to incur unforeseen roaming charges when they’re on international trips. When your mobile team is looking to up their game, they need to take some time to research the best roaming options and offer advice on the best practice in this regard. As an example, before an employee heads on a trip, the mobile team should do some research about the carriers in the region and suggest which one will offer the best rates.
