When asked to picture “leadership”, our CEO, Daniel Nel, envisions a chef. If a chef is having a bad day in the kitchen, everyone will notice. From their kitchen colleagues down to the people in the restaurant actually eating the food.
When a chef is creating delicious food, his or her team will be inspired to do the same.
“Leadership is a choice. It isn’t a position,” says Nel. “It’s about wanting to participate in the creation of something great. Leadership is only really tested when times get tough. Will a chef ever truly realize what they’re capable of if they never work in a kitchen and serve people their food? Probably not.”
