In a company statement issued by Telkom, group CEO Sipho Maseko said, “Isaac will be driving the full integration of Telkom Business Connexion and we are proud to have such an astute business leader fulfilling this role.”
Isaac Mophatlane, who has been group CEO of BCX since August 2014, co-founded BCX with his late twin brother, Benjamin. Thanks to sound business decisions and acquisitions, BCX flourished and became a top ICT provider in Africa.
Commenting on his appointment as CEO, Mophatlane said, “I’m honoured to be at the helm of the newly formed Telkom Business Connexion, and I look forward to working with my partners to grow the success of this business.”
According to Jacqui O’Sullivan, Telkom’s managing executive for group communication, both companies have addressed employees on the processes to be followed for a smooth integration, and no retrenchments are anticipated from either business.
The aim of the Telkom and BCX merger is to increase the value propositions for both companies in the South African market.
